Yoga + Reiki

What is Yoga + Reiki?

Yoga combined with Reiki creates a powerful and holistic approach to well-being that addresses both the physical and energetic aspects of the body. Here’s an explanation of how the two practices work together:

Yoga is a powerful practice that encompasses physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), meditation, and ethical principles. It aims to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit while promoting flexibility, strength, balance, and overall wellness. Through yoga, practitioners cultivate self-awareness, mindfulness, and a sense of inner peace.

Reiki is a healing technique that involves the transfer of universal life energy through the hands of a trained practitioner to the recipient’s body. It’s based on the idea that life energy flows through us, and when this energy is balanced and flowing freely, it promotes health and well-being. Reiki sessions are known for inducing deep relaxation, releasing energetic blockages, and supporting the body’s natural healing abilities.

When yoga and Reiki are combined, the physical practice of yoga serves as a foundation for Reiki energy to flow more freely through the body. The combination can be especially beneficial for those seeking a comprehensive approach to relaxation, healing, and self-discovery.

What does a Combined Yoga and Reiki session look like?

A private 1-on-1 Yoga and Reiki session will be done with myself and the receiver, side by side, both on our own mats. At the beginning of the session, I will start by connecting with the receiver and discussing their hopes and needs for the session. I will then start the class with arriving, grounding down, beginning to bring the awareness inwards, and connecting with the breath. We will work through some gentle stretching before I guide the receiver into restorative asanas (postures), which the receiver will hold for 3-5 minutes. During the restorative asanas, I will use gentle hands-on touch to send universal love and energy into the receiver to promote, energetic alignment, deep relaxation, integrated healing, and a calm mind. The session will end with a long savasana to allow for the practice to seek deep into the receiver’s awareness.
